About the Role: We’re looking for an exceptionally self-motivated, intellectually curious, and entrepreneurially minded Associate Director, In vivo Research with deep expertise in translational research for Insmed’s New Jersey Research Team to help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious and rare diseases. Reporting to the Senior Director of Research, you will lead rodent disease model development and the design and execution of preclinical in vivo studies and will collaborate closely with peers across the research organization to drive Insmed’s pipeline programs from discovery towards IND. What You'll Do: In this role, you’ll be key to enabling Insmed’s early-stage research pipeline, turning ideas into groundbreaking medicines. You’ll also: Identify, validate, and implement appropriate PK/PD models to support candidate selection Develop and execute in vivo pharmacology strategies for efficacy, PK/PD, biodistribution, and safety evaluations in rodents Lead and mentor team of in vivo scientists Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support in vivo pharmacology needs and integrate with toxicology and translational strategies Interpret and present study results to internal teams and stakeholders Author and review protocols, electronic notebook entries, technical reports, and scientific publications Review study protocols and providing scientific input on PD studies conducted by third-party partners Maintain adherence to IACUC protocols and all relevant regulatory and ethical standards for animal research Who You Are: Ph.D. degree in Life sciences discipline with strong in vivo background or DVM or VMD degree and a minimum of 6 years of industry experience Proven track record of successfully designing and executing complex in vivo pharmacology studies evaluating both small molecule entities and biologics Comprehensive experience proposing, developing, and/or establishing fit-for-purpose in vivo modelsincluding but not limited to genetically modified mouse strains and disease models in the immunology, respiratory, and CNS space Expert hands-on knowledge in standard dosing and fluid collection techniques and conducting survival surgery in rodents Strong familiarity with IACUC protocols and compliance with ethical and regulatory standards for animal research Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading teams in the context of multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines Experience collaborating and communicating effectively to optimally support functional and cross-functional operations Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive problem-solving attitude and strong willingness to take on new challenges High level of organization with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness Must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment Nice to have (but not required): Hands-on expertise in CNS/brain delivery Where You’ll Work This role is based out of our Bridgewater location and requires full-time, in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment, and/or operational needs.
