Overview
Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Engineer to support manufacturing and distribution efforts at our Milford and Franklin, MA facilities. The HSE Engineer will be responsible for updating, implementing and monitoring site health, safety and environmental programs as well as educating and engaging employees at all levels with these programs. This position will report to the Milford Site HSE Manager.
Responsibilities


  • Proactively manage health, safety and environmental compliance and related continuous improvement programs
  • Maintain and support the combined Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)
  • Maintain license and permit requirements; air, wastewater, hazardous waste and stormwater pollution prevention
  • Promote safety programs, safety awareness and HSE culture
  • Provide guidance and advice to employees, supervisors and managers on HSE compliance and best practices
  • Perform facility safety audits and inspections, including manufacturing and laboratory areas
  • Conduct job hazard analyses, ergonomic assessments, and personal protective equipment assessments
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and support and documentation of corrective actions
  • Administer and maintain site OSHA programs
  • Facilitate/Conduct employee HSE training and maintain associated training records

    Qualifications
    Required Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of experience in an HSE role in an industrial or laboratory setting
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
    • Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local HSE regulations, including OSHA, EPA and DEP
    • Demonstrated ability to recognize, evaluate and recommend controls for workplace hazards
    • Demonstrated ability to execute work assignment and perform duties with or without direct supervision
    • Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills; strong attention to detail
    • Strong communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills
    • Ability to influence others and to work in a team environment
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to adapt and learn in a changing work environment

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with environmental permitting, hazardous waste management and ISO 14001 and 45001 programs
      • Experience managing and deploying health and safety initiatives
      • Experience with program development and implementation of new or changing regulations
      • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, HSE management software and SAP
