Hitchiner produces castings in hundreds of different alloys fora broad spectrum of global markets and customers that include the leaders inthe automotive, aerospace, and other industries. Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in EvaluatingPerformance: 1. Overallresponsibility for Company-wide sourcing, negotiation and procurement of allgoods and services supporting the US, Mexico and MCT Operations. 2. Supervisesall corporate, US and Mexico purchasing personnel and activities including thedevelopment, implementation, and maintenance of purchasing systems andprocedures. 3. Works withUS and Mexico Operations management and corporate officers, responsible forselection of vendors, assessment of vendor capabilities, development ofalternate sources, and evaluation of vendor performance. 4. Recommendsmajor purchases of materials, as well as other extended-term arrangements,based on anticipated changes in price or availability. 5. Ensuresthat purchasing documents are properly completed and that terms and conditionsof purchases are appropriate. 6. Developskey supplier relationships and implements and maintains vendor qualificationand rating systems consistent with the requirements of established qualitystandards for internal assessment purposes. 7. Establishesand monitors mechanisms to measure the contribution of the procurement functionand implements changes as needed to achieve cost, budget and timing objectives. 8. Understandsindustry trends, economic outlook, energy trends, commodity pricing and otherprocurement related issues, and develops a system for Company-wide sharing ofsuch information. 9. Activelyparticipates in financial planning and budgeting activities with respect toforecasted pricing for all major purchased items. 10. Performingspecial projects and analyses as the request of senior management. 11. Oversees thedevelopment of Corporate Policies and Procedures intended to ensure thateffective purchasing practices are in place and are consistently applied andfollowed at all locations. Additional Responsibilities: 1. Establishesannual objectives for purchasing personnel and completes performance reviews ina timely manner. 2. Ensuresthat all procurement activities and operations are performed in compliance withthe Company's Code of Conduct. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: 1. Bachelor'sDegree required. MBA preferred. 2. Ten yearsof procurement related experience, including prior purchasing managementexperience with a multi-location manufacturing company, preferably in the metalproducts industry. 3. Demonstratedknowledge of MRP systems, JIT practices, state of the art E-procurementcapabilities and spending management technologies 4. Certificationby APICS or NAPM desirable. 5. Previousexperience with international vendor sourcing required. 6. Experiencewith Mexican operations and / or suppliers highly desirable. 7. Spanishlanguage skills a plus. 8. Must haveexcellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
