Job Description:
Waters is looking for a Material Scientist to join Our Chemistry
R&D Department in Milford, Massachusetts. This is an exciting
opportunity to work with a diverse team of scientists and engineers
across the organization to lead research and development of next
generation consumables for chromatographic separation and
pre-analytical sample preparation of small molecules and
biologicals to support the Company's consumables portfolio growth.
Responsibilities Meaningful work you'll be asked to do
- Conduct new inorganic, polymer and hybrid material research
from initial concept to development and commercialization.
- Precisely document research findings and maintain research
database in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with analytical and engineering team to ensure
appropriate material characterization and performance
evaluation.
- Stay up-to-date literature in inorganic and organic
materials
- Maintain laboratory equipment and conduct basic engineering
work in a chemical synthesis lab setting.
- Ensure compliance with environment, safety, health, and quality
program requirements Qualifications Abilities that will help you to
be successful
- Bachelors degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience,
Masters degree with 3-5 years, Fresh PHD graduate, preference will
be given to candidate with a thesis focus on inorganic or polymeric
material synethis.
- Looking for two or more of the following: (1) Synthesis of
inorganic oxide materials, preferred silica with aligned or other
unique porous properties; (2) Profound understanding of silica
material synthesis techniques including sol-gel process, templated
growth, hydrothermal treatment; (3) Inorganic/organic hybrid
material synthesis; (4) Synthesis of polymeric chromatographic and
adsorptive materials in particulate or monolithic format; (5)
Synthesis of novel non-fouling reactive polymer materials. (6)
Surface modification of inorganic and organic materials.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently
following high level guidance and the a bility to set priorities to
accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines .
- Willingness to learn different techniques, positive attitude,
work well in a group environment.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and the
ability to communicate to people with different background.
- Attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Knowledge in liquid chromatography theory and material
