Job Description:

EBP Supply Solutions, a leading provider of Cleaning and Food Service supplies and services to commercial institutions, is currently seeking an experienced, conscientious, detail oriented and enthusiastic Category Planner to join our team in Milford, CT. The primary function of the Category Planner position is to support the department by performing a variety of professional and analytical tasks that establish the bridge between the Negotiation and Supply Chain functions that include data verification, key market analytics, purchase order expediting, analytical reporting, bid coordination, strategic planning initiatives and various projects.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Primary job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and process Purchase Orders.
  • Monitor inventory levels and determine purchase needs.
  • Assist with P.O. order acknowledgements as directed, expedite missing or late purchase orders and manage the backorder report for specials over 3 days old through vendor follow ups and communication with Replenishment for actions needed. Confirm deliver appointments as needed.
  • Calculate forecasts for product demand trends.
  • Manage the demand and supply requirements for customers across various business units.
  • Work with the Category Manager to design exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
  • Coordinate all warehouse transfers to include inventory review, communication between Customer Service, Operations and Replenishment and evaluation of backhauls.
  • Analyze all at risk items for key accounts daily and recommend actions needed.
  • Run reports daily to aid in the review and analysis of root causes for backorders to include month-over-month review, ABCDE and vendor reviews.
  • Run reports weekly and monthly to analyze inventory position for overstocks and increases by category, vendor, and buyer and make recommendations for suggested actions.
  • Manage the return of specials both stock and non-stock to ensure inventory is addressed in a timely manner, compliance with the returns policy and appropriate fees are accessed and tracked.
  • Assist with Demand Planning maintenance and reporting.
  • Conduct periodic audits of system data for accuracy and reliability; verifies product lead times, pack size, etc.
  • Analyze low usage exceptions and recommend actions that need to be taken.

    • Ability to function in a fast paced function.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
