Job Description Job Description Salary Grade Reports to $50-$60 per hour for booming Operations Manager Summary: The Boom Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating boom trucks and Moffett (truck-mounted forklifts) in compliance with all federal regulations and company safety standards. This role includes loading, unloading, and transporting company equipment efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate must be 21 years or older, hold a valid CDL Class A or B, and possess all required certifications (including NYC DOB HMO License, 40-hour HMO Training Certification, NCCCO Telescopic Boom Certification, OSHA-compliant PIT Certification for Moffett, and SST 40-hour training). Additionally, the candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience operating boom trucks, Moffetts, or similar equipment, with a proven commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Essential Functions · Represent the company in an educated and professional manner · Operate boom/Moffett safely · Loads and/or unloaded materials that require the operation of a Boom/Moffett, planning and hoisting a variety of heavy construction materials onto delivery trucks. · Must have clean driving record and pass pre-employment physical and drug screen. · Assist with loading and unloading materials to and from delivery vehicles by hand · Sort equipment for loading and upon unloading · Read work orders to determine work assignments or material needs · Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily work tickets · Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift equipment and guide loads, secure loads · Guide loads being lifted to prevent swinging · Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use Competencies · Flexibility and dependability · Effective communication skills. English/Spanish · Read and write pick lists · Strong organizational skills · Resolve conflicts and negotiate Supervisory Responsibility · This position does not have supervisory responsibility Work Environment / Travel · This job is based at our warehouse location in West Babylon, NY but daily travel throughout the metropolitan New York area is required. Physical Demands · Must have ability to lift, move and carry objects up to 50 pounds · Must be able to push or pull 100 lbs. · Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. · Must be able to ascend or descend from truck bed, forklift, ramps and loading dock · Must maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing crouching or navigating erratically moving surfaces Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Full-time. Hourly. Non-exempt Work Schedule: This is a full-time position with 40 hours guaranteed and steady overtime . Required Education and Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent · Requires a Valid CDL license Class A or B · Required to drive to operate delivery vehicle in excess of 26,001 pounds. · Requires NYC Department of Buildings Hoisting Machine Operator (HMO) License · Requires NYC DOB Hoisting Machine Operator (HMO) 40 hr. Class Certification · Requires NCCCO Crane Operator Certification (Telescopic Boom) · Requires SST 40 Hrs . (30 Hrs. OSHA & 10 Hrs. Safety Training) · Requires Forklift Operator Certification for Truck-Mounted Forklift (Moffett) · Training Connect Worker Wallet (must be active and up to date) · Requires 2 years’ experience PLEASE NOTE: you must have all of the certifications already to qualify for interview . Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in the US.
