Job Description & Requirements Cardiac Anesthesiology StartDate: ASAP Pay Rate: $625000.00 - $700000.00 AMN Healthcare is partnering with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) to recruit a Cardiac/Liver Transplant Anesthesiologist for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care. Join a collegial team serving University Hospital (UH), New Jersey’s Level I Trauma Center, where clinical excellence, education, and access for a diverse community guide the work. You will provide high acuity cardiac anesthesia, participate in the state’s first liver transplant program, and teach residents one-on-one. Opportunity Highlights - Academic impact, day one: Teach senior residents one-on-one in cardiac and liver transplant cases; contribute to didactics, faculty development, and scholarly activity. - Competitive compensation: Base by rank (Assistant $425K; Associate $450K; Professor $475K) plus ~$170K in annual variable compensation and a $10K cardiac fellowship stipend. - Predictable schedule premiums: Home beeper call (~13 weeks/year), overtime at $300/hour, optional late call premiums, and structured call tiers. - Focused case mix: ~25 cardiac and ~45 liver transplant cases per year; faculty never cover both services simultaneously. - Growing service: Join an expanding four-faculty cardiac/liver anesthesia service aligned with UH’s transplant and surgical programs. - Extra earning potential: Optional Stone Center shifts with hourly premiums; personally administered anesthesia with no residents or certified registered nurse anesthetists. - Immigration friendly: H 1B visa candidates considered. - Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, retirement plans (PERS or ABP), commuter benefits, 26 annual vacation days, and 8 meeting days with a $5,000 stipend.
