Director of Field Marketing - Pharmaceutical (Remote) Req. # 12739 Company Name Waters Division Category Marketing Location US-MA-Milford - US Type Regular Full-Time Overview As part of the Americas Field Marketing team, the Director Pharmaceutical - Americas will be responsible and accountable for the development and execution of a business plan that achieves the Americas-wide budget for Waters' pharmaceutical portfolio. This includes all of Waters products, system solutions and application solutions relevant for pharmaceutical analysis. Through understanding of customer requirements and market dynamics, the individual will develop and support pharmaceutical marketing strategies within Americas' with team members while working with corporate marketing to implement and innovate business development plans. Responsibilities

  • Business Plan Design and Execution:-- Develop and implement a business plan that is aligned with the corporate strategy to deliver the Americas revenue goal for pharmaceutical markets. This includes sales strategies, as well as tactics to promote awareness of Waters' value propositions in these areas (e.g.,--marketing communications, seminars, user meetings, customer visits, representation at relevant meetings and tradeshows, internal training, etc.).
  • Commercialization: Ability to convert technical information to high impact marketing content that demonstrates value positioning to better meet the customers' needs. Drive commercialization of new products, solutions, and initiatives to maximize business impact by leveraging existing product portfolio and positioning our right-to-win for defined applications, solutions, and workflows. Present at conferences and travel with field members as required to drive business, customer loyalty and awareness.
  • Strategic Sales Relationship:-- Partner with Waters sales organization with the development, implementation and alignment of their regional business plan. Gather feedback from customers, global counterparts, field sales and product management to identify new market trends and opportunities. Uses this information to provide input to broader business/market development strategy to drive a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Business Reporting:--Maintain appropriate records of pharmaceutical orders and marketing activities for the purpose of measuring achievement of budgeted goal. Communicating business metrics to senior and executive management teams.
  • Market Trend Analysis:--Identify trends and potential business opportunities in pharmaceutical markets and communicate these to the broader organization. Fully understand, maintain and report on competitive activities and positioning.
  • Contribute to Strategic Business Plan: --Collaborate with sales, business development, product marketing, global marketing and field marketing from other geographies to develop our annual global strategic business plan for pharmaceutical markets that reinforces value proposition, including analysis of customer segments, competitor analysis, business trends, and market opportunities
  • Manage Pharmaceutical Team: Manage and develop team members. Qualifications
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (Biochemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Bioinformatics) or related fields of study. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing, preferably with LC/MS products
    • MBA desirable
      • Practical and/or theoretical experience within these technical areas: Biotherapeutics, HPLC/UPLC, Bioseparations, Mass Spectrometry, Informatics/Bioinformatics, Biomolecule (Protein, Peptide, Glycan, Oligonucleotide) Characterization, Sample preparation.
        • Proven ability to develop and execute business plans
        • Excellent interpersonal skills: communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively
        • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet Waters core values
        • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all corporate departments
        • Self-motivated with the ability to flexibly respond to changing demands
