Job Description Job Description Sr. Mechanical Estimator Review bid documents and RFP to determine the extent of the work scope and the support needed from subcontractors and vendors in the preparation of the estimate (labor, materials, equipment). Review and define initial subcontractor work scopes, as well as contact subcontractors and vendors to secure quotes for final estimate. Providing quantitative take-offs for equipment, materials and fixtures. Review vendor and subcontractor quotes for compliance with bid documents. Contact suppliers for cost information and material availability. Properly secures and prevents access to confidential business materials. Train new and Junior Staff on process, techniques, methods. Other tasks and duties, as assigned. Deals with multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines. May work individually or on teams, as needed. Works effectively and honestly with a wide set of internal and external clients, as well as vendors and subcontractors. Work Environment: Office (possible visits to sites).
