Job Description:
As Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have a unique
opportunity to develop, coordinate and manage design activities for
new Medinstill products relating to our proprietary INTACT
Technology. As Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, you will also assist
in the development of prototype, pilot and production tooling. To
be successful in the role and at MedInstill, you will need:
Expertise in PRO/E - PTC CREO To be pro-active, have a hands-on
approach and like to work independently; Excellent problem solving
abilities, able to react to changes quickly; Sound organizational
and planning skills with a solid attention to detail; Effective
communication skills and good interpersonal skills; Open and
collaborative style; must be comfortable working in an environment
where ideas are shared and challenged. The primary responsibilities
of the Sr. Design Engineer role are: Design mechanical components
using PTC Creo for use in MedInstill products and the manufacture
of MedInstill products Evaluate manufactured components and provide
production drawings of MedInstill components and systems including
BOM creation and documentation releases Participate in the
development of product design specifications and performance level
documents Work in development teams with colleagues at the design
level to minimize product costs and maximize product quality
Specify, plan and participate in product testing and performance
evaluation Actively participate on cross-functional design teams to
develop new products, address design issues and maintain existing
designs Assist in the scheduling of development programs
Preparation of presentations and illustrations to management and
clients Responsible for cGMP awareness and design control
Requirements: Bachelors or Master's degree in Mechanical
Engineering Strong experience using ProE (Creo II, ProE Sheet Metal
and Windchill PDM link) design and drafting applied to plastic
injection molded part/assembly Medical device industry experience
preferred Familiarity of design controls within a regulated
industry and with GD&T based on ASME Y14.5M-2009 standards and
the associated inspection practices Ability to perform hands-on
tolerance stack up analysis Knowledge of DFA/DFM experience applied
to volume production products Capable of gathering design inputs
from project management, team members and external suppliers and
with materials specification, processes, inspection requirements
and tolerances Demonstrated experience performing design
verification Understanding of manufacturing processes, capabilities
and materials preferred
