Overview We are seeking a highly capable and creative Design
Engineer who will work primarily in SolidWorks to transform
conceptual sketches into detailed, production-ready 3D models. This
role demands exceptional 3D modelling skills, with a strong
emphasis on both solid and surface modelling. The ideal candidate
will also bring practical knowledge of prototyping and
manufacturing processes, including 3D printing, injection moulding,
ISBM, EBM, and thermoforming. The ability to work efficiently and
effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is
essential. This role operates within the Consumer-Packaged Goods
(CPG) space, requiring an understanding of design considerations
specific to this industry. Applicants selected for an interview
will be asked to complete a brief CAD skills exercise as part of
the interview process. Successful completion of the test will be
part of the screening process. Key Responsibilities Use SolidWorks
as the primary tool to develop detailed 3D CAD models from concept
sketches. Apply advanced solid and surface modelling techniques to
create complex, manufacturable geometries. Translate design intent
into feasible models suitable for prototyping and production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design
feasibility and alignment with project goals. Integrate 3D printing
into the prototyping workflow, selecting appropriate technologies
and materials. Optimize designs for injection moulding, ISBM
(Injection Stretch Blow Moulding), EBM (Extrusion Blow Moulding),
and thermoforming. Work efficiently under tight timelines and adapt
quickly to changing project requirements. Participate in design
reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience Two or more years of professional
experience Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks, with a strong
focus on both solid and surface modeling. Demonstrated ability to
convert conceptual ideas into functional 3D models. Strong
understanding of 3D geometry and spatial reasoning. Experience with
3D printing technologies and materials. Familiarity with
manufacturing processes including injection moulding, ISBM, EBM,
and thermoforming. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced
environment with multiple concurrent projects. Passionate about
branding & packaging. Strong communication and collaboration
abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word,
PowerPoint, and Excel. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree
in engineering discipline, Industrial Design, or related field.
Expert in 3d CAD-Surface modeling and Solid modeling SolidWorks
Preferred Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, KeyShot, or similar
tools a plus. Experience with prototyping and product development
cycles. Understanding material behavior in both additive and
moulding processes.
