Job Description:
Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is
seeking a Disability Specialist for the Office of Employment
Equity. This position reports to the Assistant Director,
Accommodations, Office of Employment Equity. Among the key duties
of the position are the following: Assists in maintaining a program
for ensuring the university’s compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act, as amended (“ADA”), and the New Jersey Law
Against Discrimination (disability & religion) (“LAD”) with regard
to University employees. Consults and collaborates with the
employee/faculty requesting accommodation, the employee’s
department, and others, as appropriate, and prepares communications
regarding same. Trains supervisors and other affected persons in
the requirements of the ADA and LAD , the university’s procedures
for handling requests for workplace accommodations, and related
issues. Assists in maintaining a central record of accommodation
requests received by the university and of responses to such
